Is Your Garden Winter Ready for Wild Birds?

Birds that visit gardens in the winter months thrive on seeds, as insects and fruit are harder to find. Make sure you offer them high-energy, quality seeds for winter survival, such as seed mixes with a good proportion of sunflower and millet.

Attracting birds to your winter garden can be encouraged with the right type of feeder. Look for one suited to the birds in your area that will keep bully birds and squirrels away. Feeders should keep seed dry and be easy to clean and refill.

On very cold winter days, wild birds’ will come to visit gardens in search of food. They will prefer to perch in high places to eat and drink. Keep your bird visitors happy by offering them high bird tables and stations with clean, fresh water in a suitable container.
