Deputy Manager – Dartford

The main purpose of the Deputy Manager is to assist the Store manager day to day to maximise the potential and profitability of the store by, continuous improvement in the service provided to customers, maximising both turnover and gross margin, control of costs and maximising the potential of all staff through good management and leadership skills.

What are we looking for?

  • You will need to demonstrate your passion for retail and pets.
  • You should have previous management experience, preferable in a retail environment where you’ve taken a hands-on approach.
  • You should be able to demonstrate your achievements to date across KPIs, particularly in delivering high in store standards and customer service.
  • You will need to be a team player, able to communicate and engage with your staff to get the best from the team.
  • You should be commercially aware and have a proactive approach.

Delivering the highest standards of pet care and ensure that the welfare of pets is a top priority, promoting responsible pet ownership. Ensuring that your store gives exceptional customer service by providing excellent pet and product knowledge and create a great shopping experience for customers. Take full responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager Be involved all aspects of running a successful store such as recruitment, stock control and store standards.

Rate of pay:

  • Competitive salary of £23,250-28,000 plus an annual bonus subject to achieving KPIs.
  • 29 days paid annual leave including bank/statutory holidays
  • Pension – the Company will contribute 5% of basic monthly salary, provided you contribute 2.5%.
  • Staff discount – You are entitled to a staff discount of 20%.
