Gerbil
Facts
There are only two types of gerbils that are kept as pets, the Mongolian gerbil and the Fat Tailed gerbil. The Mongolian gerbil is the most popular and is available in 20 different colours. The average life span ranges from 2-4 years old, however the oldest recorded gerbil lived until 8 years old.
Environment
Gerbilariums or mesh lidded tanks will provide comfortable homes for your gerbil. Always buy the largest available Gerbilarium which will allow for plenty of room for bedding. Always ensure bedding is povided at a minimum depth of 6' or 15cm.
Seasonal Tips
Position your Gerbilarium or mesh lidded tank in a quiet area away from direct sunlight and draughts.
