Finch Finch

Facts
There are many different types of finches. The most common are Zebra finches. Zebra finches originate from Australia and if caged can live for 8-12 years old. In the wild there life expectancy falls and they can reach up to 5 years old.

Environment
It is important to get the largest cage or outside aviary as possible to allow sufficient room for flight. Your cage should be positioned away from draughts, damp and humid areas. Finches are social birds; they can be housed in pairs or with canaries.

Seasonal Tips
Molting is a natural process that usually takes place during the last few weeks of the summer. If molting occurs at other times it may be a sign of a cold.
