Canary
Facts
The canary originates from the Canary Islands off the west coast of Africa and is a member of the finch family; Canaries can live up to ten years old. Male canaries (cocks) have better singing voices than the females (hens).
Environment
It is important to get the largest cage or outside aviary as possible to allow sufficient room for flight. House your canaries in pairs or with finches, as they are very sociable animals.
Seasonal Tips
If your bird gets a chill they can catch a cold. It is important to keep them warm in the winter months.
