Calling all pet owners - it's time to say a big thank you to your pets and Jollyes Petfood Superstore is here to help!

Starting on Friday 26th May until Monday 28th the Jollyes Store in Ballymena will be hosting a variety of activities for your furry companions.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday pet owners are invited to bring their pets to the store to pose for their very own pet portrait, which if you chose to buy, could take pride of place in your home. Dorwin Coates, Jollyes Ballymena store manager, explains: "We all have lots of pictures of our families dotted around the house, yet we often forget about our pets and they are a big part of the family too! A pet portrait is a great way to celebrate your extra family member."

Over the weekend Royal Canin, worldwide suppliers of cat and dog feeds will also be in store providing advice on food for your pooches and kitty's.

On Monday 28th May the Ballymena store will be hosting a PDSA PetCheck vehicle. Free pet checks for dogs and advice on caring for other animals will be provided between 10am and 5pm by an experienced PDSA veterinary nurse. Information and friendly advice will also be available on how to keep types of your furry companions fit and happy.

The dog health checks will cover weight, eyes, ears, teeth, coat condition and general fitness all for free!

Dorwin said: "The welfare of each and every pet is Jollyes primary concern. A staggering 50% of cats and dogs in the UK are overweight and only 30% of dog owners exercise their dogs enough to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Jollyes is committed to educating pet owners on health and nutrition and are delighted that the PDSA are helping us to achieve this."

The PDSA PetCheck vehicle is a service for all pet owners in Balllymena and the surrounding area, but for safety reasons the PDSA ask that only dogs are brought to the PetCheck.

After your dog's health has been seen to, K9 Splash's mobile dog spa can ensure that your dog's appearance is also in tip-top shape. They will be setting up their spa at Jollyes all day in Monday 28th May. K9 Splash also provides a pet-sitting service and a pet taxi.
