A mix up in deliveries has resulted in a local charity receiving over £6,000 worth of free pet food!

Jollyes Petfood Superstores in Bangor received an extra order of IAMS cat food by mistake and instead of sending it back they decided to donate it to Assisi Animal Sanctuary.

Jollyes Assistant Manager, Phil Bremner explains: "We have been supporting Assisi Sanctuary for a number of years and when this incorrect delivery arrived we saw a great opportunity to help the sanctuary in a practical way. Jollyes is delighted to be able to assist Assisi to care for abandoned and abused animals in the area."

For over ten years Assisi Animal Sanctuary has been a refuge for abandoned, abused and neglected pets. Heather Oliver, Manager at Assisi, said: "Currently we are housing 120 cats on site and Jollyes' donation has given the Sanctuary a huge boost. Not only has the cat food fed all our cats it has also helped our foster cat parents and fellow sanctuary colonies. With so many kittens being born during this season this donation has been invaluable and we are so grateful to Jollyes for their continuous support."

Phil added: "For individuals who would like to support the work of Assisi Animal Sanctuary Jollyes has a collection bin at the front of the store and all pet food and accessories donations are welcome. We also have an Assisi information board where you can find out regular information on all the sanctuary's projects."
